My V5 finally got back today (for some reason it wouldn't let me do the online transfer) so at last I got round to popping these on the 75.

Plates as you can probably guess from the username, Roasty is what pretty much everyone calls me, so when I found this plate a few years ago I was delighted.

Just a reminder for you UK guys regarding Number plates used on the road....

https://www.gov.uk/displaying-number-plates/overview

A hefty fine should you transgress

Apparently the authorities take a dim view of number plates that cannot be read by their ANPR cameras.....

I didn't bother going through a registered supplier and having to produce document's. I purchased mine on eBay and they are perfectly legal and above board.

A pal of mine has had exactly the same split/spacing as mine (M B****R) for the last 15 years and hasn't been pulled once. I fail to see how my legal size and font lettering couldn't be picked up by an ANPR compared to the many European plates that I see daily.

Of course I'm fully aware by stating the above I'll no doubt be pulled on the way home from work tonight! Still, I am willing to take my chances.

From the nightwatchman's link

You can display one of the following flags with identifying letters on the left-hand side of the number plate:
  • Union Flag
  • Cross of St George
  • Cross of St Andrew - also known as the Saltire
  • Red Dragon of Wale
So UK law doesn't allow for either Irish flag - bit weird that

All down to which side of bed Mr plod got out of..........many years ago I had K12TH X with the 2 looking like an E......picked my daughter up from school and was following a double decker bus.....police car behind me.....I could see the kids at back of bus giving the police car some unpleasant finger gestures.......I turned off left and next thing ...flashing blue lights....you was speeding he said WTF ...get those plates off or you will get a £1k fine next time.......never had been stopped before or after...luck of the draw I guess......now I have SXI 5380 and KGW 563A both legal and hassle free.....I'm getting older and wiser
