You might want to consider taking those ones with " A pinch of salt" guys butching up I ignore it. They don't mean any harm. Most of them I have met.

Please offer a helpful solution for Minty

These things have a way of escalating. You have to live in some sort of harmony. If you was an aggressive type you would have already give him a right hander, sounds like you tactics are right

I agree with fitting cctv
It's sickening this type of vandalism, I hope the culprit gets their comeuppance.

Much as I would love to reciprocate, I will not escalate. I will fit a dashcam ASAP though and I may go for CCTV too.

Have had it done to me.
Doesn't justify setting fire to someone.
Or sending the heavies in.

I have lived in different parts of the world in remote settings where the rule of law does not operate. Under those circumstances, tribal law meets out justice whilst trying to be civilised. The alternative is mob rule when the vigilantes take over. At some point, an innocent will get hurt. I don't know if people are still burned to death in Northern Ireland for criminal activities or political crimes. I had hoped that barbaric practice had stopped. I have seen it reported in the townships of South Africa.

So you have been there with what happened to Minty. I am sorry to hear about that. What was the final outcome?

Had a good idea who it was, but as with most events no proof.
Could have been a drunk from local pub for all I know.

Advised to leave it for 6 months by my garage, as if you repair at once they damage it again.
In the end it cost £500.
I wasn't happy, but I wouldn't run the risk of making the wrong person as un happy as me.
Read twice before you post anything.
The person responsible may read this, its www you know.

The police took our vandalism quite seriously, but we had weeks of video and told them the exact time each day it was happening.... so they sat in wait as per the video

Nice! Glad there was a good outcome.

I don't understand damaging cars at all though. I mean, it's annoying but what does it really accomplish? If I have a grievance with someone, I'll talk to them about it, not damage an innocent, cute car.
