Default Have you a faulty heated rear screen?

If you have a faulty heated rear screen where some of the elements are not working, this may be of use.

or this

About 40 years ago I fitted something similar to a Hillman Husky

thanks for this.

I have a faulty rear screen on one of my zt's. The car had rear tint and when someone took it off I think some of the lines were compromised so have been looking for an option other than a new screen.

When I worked at Smiths Industries a long time ago we had a staff shop where we could buy products like car accessories, clocks and watches from all divisions of Smiths. A big seller was the stick on heater for the rear screen.

My first car was a 1975 MKII Escort, a "poverty" model, no heated rear window.
In fact, not much of anything!

I bought a kit very similar to that shown, but no where near as fine lined, I fitted it and it did the job very well!
I had that car 9 years! I still miss the old begger, but sadly rust got the better of it.
That truly was a car that I wish I still had!

The kit really does look very good, much more like how a factory heated window looks.
Progress!

I've just looked at the "Holden Hot Screen", I cant remember the name of the kit I used, but the picture on that box really rings a bell with me! I'm sure the picture was identical.

A friend had a Holden that was personally imported by the previous owner. The car was not that old and fully loaded with all the toys, what amazed US there was no heated rear window and the hand book just said to put corrosion inhibitor in the cooling system.
