Default Terrible engine vibration with whistling on cdti

Hi guys i need help with my 05 cdti. Bust my clutch a few days ago on holiday in Scarborough and had to have clutch, slave + dmf changed. Now on the way home, clutch feels like a dream but the engine has started to vibrate right through the car at low revs and there is some whistling. If i sit with engine idling and rev it some it will vibrate right through the drivers seat quite considerably. I have some belts in the boot and long aviation spanners been delivered whilst I've been away to change them as there is a slight squeak in that area so i was thinking crank pulley but that wouldn't account for the whistling...

Any help greatly appreciated - got no money due to the clutch but am fairly well equipped and experienced with engines just not sure where to start. Hopefully I'll make it home without anything failing...

More of a whining than a whistling

out of interest have your put any diesel in since. I had this and really rough running but once I put some new diesel in it seemed to cure it. I suspect with me it was either air, dirt or the movement of the fuel pump in getting to the clutch connector.

I have bought some forte cleaner that I am going to put through it also.

Did it start straight away after the clutch was changed? If so get it back to the garage.

No it was fine for about 50 miles then started. The garage is in Scarborough and I've returned to St Helens where i live - the clutch went on the second day of our holiday with my one year old in the back - i was stuck up the creek without a paddle unfortunately. As i got off the motorway onto the smaller roads by my house, every time i go over a bump i hear something bang on the bottom, maybe about half way between the back and front - not sure. Can have a look underneath shortly just hoping this rain goes off

Sounds like a gearbox mount hasn't been correctly secured.

Ok lads, some partial success getting underneath her just now:

Took battery out and checked mount - all seemed in good order.

Checked offside mount and the bolt with the rubber bush on it was loose so i tightened it up - will look at torquing it up tomorrow.

Found the clanging underneath - the exhaust backbox bracket is broken so it's banging up and down. Could this in fact be causing the vibration??
