Halfords trade card
Afternoon all
About a month ago I applied for a trade card online , and then you have to go in store to get the actual card. So filled in the online application , putting down driver as my occupation , went to my local store ( 20 mile drive) only to be told they couldn't get online to complete the application. So left the store grumbling to myself and forgot all about it. Went back in today for a new ratchet and give it a try. Guy on the desk asked for proof of Id, driving license etc , gave me a trade card and knocked a £5 off the price. So worth trying if you use halfords for tools etc , apparently up to 67% of service items Stan

The discount isn't as good as it used to be. It's 25% off most things now, tools are a bit better.
If you want to know the discount on each item, register an online account and it'll tell how much off with a trade card. |

With a bit of a search online you may find you can get a trade card by joining certain vehicle forums as a paid up member (sadly this forum doesn't have this).
The vauxhall owners club certainly used to have this perk (stopped now I believe), but you may find the ford focus owners club has this (or at least they did last year...) |

Didn't explain very well.
My trade is a train driver which is not on the list so just put driver , there is no checking of trades as such so if anyone what's to take up this offer you can basically make it up as you go. Maybe its because of poor trade at the moment but there are no checks in place so if your looking to upgrade your tools might be worth taking advantage of this Stan

I had to go to the Stafford branch with my apprenticeship papers and proof of employment to get mine.
Perhaps I dont look honest enough. |

Had one for about 8 years now. Bought their 200 piece advanced socket and ratchet spanner set the other. £165 in the sale, £130 with the trade card. Great stuff.
The no quibble replacement guarantee on their tools is brilliant.

I've had one for several years and also had to take my trade papers and work ID in to show them, I've heard of folks getting them without issues and yet others have to prove your trade.
The discounts used to be a lot better than what they are now also register online so you can see the trade price and reserve so you get that price as twice recently the trade price at the till was different to the online trade price. I had a screen shot on my phone so they price matched for me.

Registered my trade card number on the website and amazingly some of the trade prices were higher than normal prices.
But I think their maths have never been a strong point.... I had to email before Christmas as they had an item that had been reduced by 25% , was £30 reduced to £24. That's not 25% , should of been £22.50 , The customer service person agreed and said they would update the website but it was on there for 4 days then went back to £30. Stan
