I have had quotes for £255 fully comp with 4 years no claims from Esure and sheilas wheels for my Diesel ZT.
I have noticed that having my Dad on my insurance as a second driver has gone from reducing my premiums a fair bit to actually increasing it a little in the last few years, seems to be since he turned 70. He now adds me as a second driver to bring down the cost of his by nearly £100 so it may help if you have somebody you can add as a second driver. My Dad gets his best quote from direct line, they wanted over £1000 to insure me on my ZT though yet adding me to his policy reduces his premiums. Insurance makes no sense. |

Just got my renewal via M&S, last year £337, renewal £473 so told them I was cancelling they had a relook and revised renewal £348 and these rates include RAC Breakdown UK and Europe. I haven't said yes yet but probably will as I reckon it's reasonable.

Up and up.......
My insurance company put up the renewal £180, I rang them and was told they could offer me two quotes, one as a fresh quote(just going over same details) but that still ended up £160 dearer, the second was a new quote, and that ended up still £120 dearer than my £288 quote from a different insurer.......

It's not the value of your car, it's the possible cost of the damage you could do to someone else's that keeps premiums high.
If it's not your only car, try Pete Best. Otherwise, follow the other suggestions.

I agree with that.. nearly 2 tons of rover will make a bit of a dent.

Having a Liverpool Post Code and being over 70 years old are probably key reasons for your quotes. Have a look at this site to look up the risk band for your area. http://www.carinsuranceexplained.com...risk-list.html Whether your car is worth under £1k or over £50k will make little difference to the damage done to another car or person it impacts in an accident. |
