Just ordered a genuine polybush from a Rover/MG specialist.
Hopefully it's only the large bush that needs replacing.

It will increase fuel consumption right.
I've got about 7 hours driving to do on Saturday, plenty of motorway miles, but is it going to break the bank or not worth worrying about?

PS, when replacing just the sensor, is it plug and play?

Ok, cheap fuel is a false economy. Got it.
I don't know anything about engines, but know enough to sanity check advice I'm given before I follow it

I would like an all stainless exhaust but will have to go for the direct fit replacement for £60 this time round. Wish I didn't have to be so tight but the shopping list is growing

Won't make enough difference to worry about especially when cruising.

Unlikely to suddenly start working once broken. Not something I've ever had to look at on mine. I've no real clue as to where to start looking - I don't even know where the temperature sensor is located.

Good, always check information from unless you know that the person giving the information is expert in the field. (but still get a bunch of second opinions anyway - experts have been known to be completely wrong before).

Calverton, Nottinghamshire and back from SW London ate about 35 quids worth of fuel, which was decent considering the M25 was like 2nd gear the whole way.
AS USUAL.

So a couple of little updates. The stiff clutch just went away. Magically. I'm mystified but I'm not complaining.

The fuel gauge works fine. It's possible I was hallucinating, as anything is possible, but either way, no issues!

Identified another problem: wheels dragging to left and/or right when accelerating or braking fairly hard, but not excessively.
I'm sure this is the front bushes, so will prob need to get poly ones for those, but any ideas what else it could be?
It does pull to the left, but there's no control vibration at speed.
Alignment, or the brakes?

I've got everything I need now to get the bumper sorted tomorrow, which has been driving me crazy so I can't wait, plus I swapped out the dodgy spray job straights for a set of scuffed but properly painted hairpins.

Looks nice. But I think I want the straights silver, and the hairpins gloss black

One more thing if anyone is still reading this, and I applaud you if you are

I've heard mention that it's a straight swap for a MK1 and MK2 front bumper (with a change of lights).
Now I would keep the MK1 bumper, but it's chipped and cracked and I would be happy to put a MK2 one on there while I get the original one sorted.
So the real question is, if I can't find an HFF Pearlescent MK2 bumper, how much would it cost to get one resprayed, and should this be something I consider doing myself (after making sure I understand how to get a proper finish).
This guy seems to have it down pretty good for alloys, surely a bumper would be easier?:
