Default Windscreen cost

Does anyone know how much a new windscreen would roughly cost including fitting, as don't want to go through my insurers as it will be deemed a claim, and theres loads of scratch marks on it.

Thanks.

Just paid £140 for mine, no rain sensor. I used a local chap I trust. The big companies might be a bit less, but I don't trust them.

Yep, local chap, came out Saturday morning, was very helpful. It will be too far away, but he's called Carglaze.

I'm in the same position and was quoted 'at least £200' to remove scratches without even seeing it. Thus £140 is could value, Auto Windscreens quoted £110 to another member.

Worth remembering, I have a £100 excess on my windscreen and I am sure - despite what they say - that a windscreen claim does effect your policy come renewal time.......

Local independant has done two for me. £100 each non rain sensor. Think rain sensor is £130. Paul Smith NorthWest windsreens, may cost more to travel Burnley he did work out of a garage near Ormskirk.

Thanks for the replies, not as much as I expected.

So guess thats payday sorted.

Next on the list after that is paintwork, namely rusting rear arches.

You'd think that it would be possible to find out how much it will cost on any of the installers websites, but each one I've tried want to quote by phone or email.

You can buy a car online, but not a screen.
