Default 1.8t revs at idle

How'do folks (glad those seasonal smilies are gone )

I've noticed that turning the steering wheel raises the revs at idle on my car - is this to be expected or possible fault somewhere ? - the car does need (and will be getting) a full service soon.

Hi, my car does the same thing, it's just increasing the idle speed due to the pump putting a load on the engine
