Good evening young Lee,

I had thought about the National Railway Museum at Shildon - I don't know how many train fans we have in our ranks, but I thought it might make an interesting day out?

Homepage here

There are various events coming up, how about this one - Model Motion on Sunday 11th March - seems to be a freebie?

Another thing that caught my eye was the Group Bookings which includes a half day tour, although this might be too much.

Anyway - just a thought, not sure what everyone else thinks?

Quick Edit - If you'd like me to make some enquiries regarding a meet there, just let me know. Can always fire off a quick e-mail to them.

Also in Shildon - the Vintage Vehicles Museum

I am sure there are a few of us that would enjoy this one - and being vehicle based they might like the idea of a car meet there - £2 entry fee is nice and cheap (under 12's free).

Edit - Proper web site here

I should be on the Shildon Tourist Board......

Think the Shildon motor museum is a no goer, as it is somebody's private collection, and there would be no room for parking, however, the railyway museum would definately be a good venue, I would be up for that one.

Cheer's chris, I spoke to colin awhile ago about the railway one,as he's had one there before, and if I remember rightly he said they were keen on us returning, so may-be worth me having a word with colin and seeing if he has a contact there, and shame about the other places I didn't even know they were there lol, but if any other members know of any where else please make sure theres enough room for us cheers-Lee

Newburn Motor Museum is very small,as has been said, there is no parking other than on the street, which the residents would likely moan about,my son goes to the school nearby, and the street is always chokka at school times ,with parents dropping off ,or collecting. Also I think they just hire out the vehicles for films and such, you could walk round the lot in 20 mins.
i quite fancy Shildon r m too.

HIYA LEE,

We were at the meet colin arranged at the loco museum, great place for a meet,if i remember correctly, you may be able to confirm this with colin, the motor museum is a private collection, whom i think colin knows,it is just behind the loco museum within walking distance,& colin made pryor arrangements with the guy who owns it for us to look round, hope this may help.

Cheers.
