I hope you can access the picture below:
https://www.zt-t.nl/piwigo/picture.p...21/category/38 You are looking for a blue/purple and blue/orange wire. They could be hidden in the center console. So feel free to explore the empty space with your hand to see if a cable comes up

I think I'm gonna have to get back in there. It's sucha tight fit, I'm really loath to take it out again lol.
I have never found these wires, I bought the car with a non standard unit. The car has wheel controls and cruise, so they must be there right? Quote:

Yes, the wires must be there. It could be a previous owner has cut of the wires (can't imagine though) and if so you can still get SWC to work by replacing the wires from the steering wheel to the center console. You would only have to remove the housing behind the steering wheel (three screws IIRC) and find the wires I mentioned.
But I don't think that will be necessary. I am sure you will find the wires in the center console

Yup! Those are the ones! Don't cut them, just splice them and you'll be fine. Refer to the picture I have shared for ground and 1.5V.
Good luck!

I've spliced in with inline clips, but nothing, I think the switches are fubared on the wheel by the feel of them, way too loose and one of them has tape on. No recognition from the Navall in either impedance, so I need some bits now.
I wired it the same way you have and I believe it actually doesn't matter which way round they are, so more fun to come! But thanks for all the info, DAB is stable and tuned, so lets see what happens next lol

Before you go out and get yourself a new (secondhand) SWC you might want to check if the SWC gives any signal when you press the buttons. You never know...

There's no signal being picked up on the unit, so how is the best way to check the signal? Voltmeter and what setting?
I have one, so I can have a play if I know what I'm looking for.

Voltmeter would do the job. Set it for 12V DC, put the ground to a point that has it and check with the other sensor if there is any reaction from the SWC. You might want to check both wires. I am not sure which wire caries the signal.

Awesome, thanks.
I'll check at the wheel first and go back from there. If the switches are dead, I should be able to just swap out with a few wire cuts. By the state of them, that's were I thing the issue is
