Default Project: restore to design

Decided to start looking for, obtaining (if possible) and fitting parts that were meant to be fitted, that MGR decided to leave off the Rover 75 range and especially in my case the Tourer.
I'm quite lucky that as my Tourer is a very early one, it has escaped most of the ravages of Project Drive, the details of which are well documented.

I'm not talking options here, I'm slowly adding those when I can find or afford them, but parts that were designed and made, but never fitted to the vast majority of cars.

I've already ordered the rear loadspace cubby box covers, and am now in the process of looking for other other "missing" parts.

I have started trawling through the EPC, but any pointers to other parts would be useful.

Ordered them through Rimmer brothers they aren't in stock, but some of the options and colours are available. Don't ask the price, it's quite scary.

What about the rear seat and headrest covers, made from "shock proof nylon". Not sure if the same item fits tourers and saloons, but it sure was expensive.

Got to give it credit, 3.5 years and it still looks like new, but I don't need it any more. Drop me a PM if you need one.

Thanks for the replies , my car was originally fitted with tooltrays and the sparewheel cover/tray and lid. as far as I know now the cubby covers have been fitted the loadspace area and spare wheel well are now complete.
Were curtain air bags supposed to be fitted accross the range originally ?
I have the volumetric alarm sensors which I am going to be fitting soon were these also supposed to be fitted before becoming an option?

Next thing to fit is the volumetric sensors for the alarm. Just need to source or make up the loom.
Has anyone retrofitted the curtain airbags?

Russ

I suspect an airbag retrofit would require a lengthy session on T4

I wouldn't mind doing something similar, except that on mine it would be a very lengthy list. That's the one issue with having a facelift.

Lets see

Mine is a Connie so needs.

Volumetric sensor
Electric (non memory) seats
Bullet Mirrors
Proper reflectors for the doors not just sticky labels
soundproofing.
real wood for the facia.
thick carpets.
FBH
Front Foglights
Driver's cupholder

Thanks for the reminder about the carpets not sure if they were ever fitted to the tourer? And is there any difference in the saloon and tourer carpets anyway?

Think yours being an early tourer probably got the better carpets anyhow.

I will have to compare mine to the carpets in Allegomans tourer, as far as I know the earliest tourer on the forum. His was built for one of the Senior managers and has most if not all the options available.
