Are these the same parts, as used on BMWs?

All ready asked this question on another thread I started, as the Rover 75 shares its rear design with the BMW Z1... which shared it with other BMW's in the range... waiting on a few email replies from Parts departments... to see if someone can find out..as stuck in for the next few days...

I think the parts look identical... just need confirmation.

Sounds good! never spotted your thread.

If it is different, I wonder if the pattern part companies would consider making a variant to fit these cars

Guess what I bought last week to check?

As you can see, close but no cigar.
We can use the bush at the end though, although a couple of washers will be needed to space it out, as it's a little short.

No idea what I'm going to do with the BMW arm I now have here though...

What Model BMW did you buy it for Mat?....

Also makes you wonder why they say it shared the same as the Z1... if they are so different.......

E46 3 series, the closest I could find.
Here's a list of that part's applications:

http://www.yoyopart.com/oem/2195597/...ml#application

I think they shared the same suspension set-up, but with different actual components - the same way our cars share the same front suspension design with the E46 3 Series, but with different actual parts that aren't cross-compatible.

As far as I know, First Line have them made for themselves - there's no markings etc on the parts.
