Any recommendations for a V6 catalytic converter?
As titled, any recommendations for a V6 catalytic converter?
I want the best quality possible, but at a price which won't involve filing for bankruptcy. OEM ones are not available except for the SLP Service Line Part which I gather is pretty much Xpart selling aftermarket parts and wouldn't be as good as the original OEM cat (plus the Xpart price is out of budget anyway). But if it gets the sign off from Xpart it must be good enough Any ideas who the manufacturer is? So aftermarket it is - any suggestions? Ta, Bolin.

I did say the best quality if possible, not no quality at all :P
I think Bosal were OEM, as they did the OEM back box - found a Boal cat for £215 delivered but it's from Estonia and takes 4 weeks: https://spareto.co.uk/products/099-7...ytic-converter Hmm, 4 weeks and very cheap - sounds a bit iffy... Or more expensive, and more than I'd like to pay, on eBay for £278: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CATALYTIC-...UAAOxyjK1RDWex Secondhand has also been suggested but I'm not keen as you can't be sure it's good until fitted, which would be major hassle, and there's no warranty, and what if it then starts to fail shortly afterwards (like a s/h PAS pump I fitted). Any thoughts?

Bosal cat from Micks garage / Amazon here. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bosal-098-74.../dp/B00DZOZKCQ
Actually cheaper at the moment direct from Micks garage. Under £180. Says free delivery. http://www.micksgarage.com/proddetai...id=1298791&pk= No experience with the React brand from Carparts4less/ECP, but with £15 discount off this price, and 3 year guarantee, it's perhaps worth a look. http://www.carparts4less.co.uk/cp4l/...b88456f&000059 Last edited by Typhoon190; 29th December 2015 at 19:51.. |

One owner has reported that a brand new Bosal cat failed the MOT on emissions, which is putting me off now! Quote:

I have had a few people tell me that factory-fitted cats were better quality than anything you can now buy aftermarket, including Bosal.
Anymore thoughts about using a second-hand one? I am leaning towards this now.
