I hot glued 3 pieces to the bottom of each infill, this lifts the bumper up making a far better fit, each wedge was about 1/4 inch thick.

Dropped some wheels off to have tyres changed, serviced the diesel, fitted a new aux belt as well, and changed the battery strap as someone had cut through it at some point in its life!

Yesterday dropped the subframe out after an epic battle with the o/a bush in the arm to hub.
Nut came off easily but then found the bolt didn't want to leave the bush. Today got the upper arms off easily, but the lower arm bolts fought back and took a while. The anti roll bar bolts were an absolute nightmare to get out but it's all off now. 2 coats of red Oxide and 1st coat of black is now on. Stan

Today was the day....
Both front struts had to be replaced since the springs broke in the first frost of the year... Well all would have been easy had I not take the car to a garage last year and they airgunned my locking wheel nut on damaging the key in the process.... Finally managed to get the nuts off and the job done.... Now the car is running level again... Sent from my SM-G975F using Tapatalk |

Last week Mrs Andy told me she couldn't open the bonnet to fill the window wash, as I feared the cable had come loose from the splitter/joiner thing.
Got home from work at a reasonable hour yesterday so thought i'd give it a go. I managed to open the bonnet through the wheel arch more easily than i thought. The single end of the joiner had splayed open so the cable didn't grip any more. Not sure of the best way to pull it back together, I decided to put a thinnish bolt through and pull the plastic back into shape. Carefully positioned so as not to rub the single cable's travel, and gently done up to put some pressure on the plastic case and reshape it. I spent while gradually pouring oil down the cables and working in to make them pull more freely, a liberal coating of grease inside and refitted. A liberal lubrication of the other bonnet parts and it seems to work well so far. Also last Friday i passed 213k miles and then this little warning light came on... |

Having recently acquired a cheap workhorse CDT auto tourer, Dixy, today was the day to tidy a few bits up...
Job 1 was to get rid of the unsecured off centre stereo surround and fit a centred surround then plug everything in properly! I now have a fully functioning, wobble free radio which is so much more pleasing on the eye. Job 2 with @port30 as support, was to take out the battered old steering wheel that's covered 164k and replace it with one off a 40k scrapper that I picked up on faceache for £20... jobs a goodun, all done in 30 minutes!! Job 3 replace kick trim OSF ☺️ Now to scour the forum for remappers... |
