I didn't change the UBFP on my tourer today because it does not have one, but a local owner whom as a saloon as one on her car, that was removed and replaced with a decent used pierburg pump, the car now runs as it should.

intermittent ERR to sort out tomorrow, which could be starting the car from off the key to fast, which is a glitch instead of waiting for the glow plug light to go out, i am led to believe is a 2002 trait.

The car is a 2002 but it could be the FBH which is also associated to the ERR in the unit f the FBH, or failing fuse F11 fuse box behind the glove box, which serves the aircon & power fold mirrors which this car doe's not have.

Not what I have done, but what I have not done today.......................................sold the Connie V6. Had an offer from a traveller who,he said, regularly passes the house, and noticed that the car never moves? It does practically every day. The offer for ‘the old car’. £300.00, was obviously turned down. I said ‘you just want the tyres off it then?’. They have only just been fitted. Perhaps he is another one who realises how much they are worth broken down. Will now have to put my special alarm on it now, so if anyone touches it at night they will have a shock. Aarrggg.

We sleep with the front window open, both of us very light sleepers, and we can hear a mouse f..t. Plus we will certainly hear a shout.

Default FL2 Brake Pad Change

I checked brakes on both my cars and it was a pleasure to only to have to change just the rear brake pads on the FL2, most people i think would have not changed them as they still had quite a bit of meat on them.

It is a really nice and easy job to change out the brake pads on a Freelander 2, also carried out the usual weekly checks of all fluids and tyres pressures, only need to give it a good clean now after i have checked out the R40.

Did nothing to the ZT or the 75 but I did watch a video I made of the ZT, what I had to do was work on the little Fiat Punto as it's been losing water. I knew the cold nights were coming so I mended the water leak which was under the thermostat housing, I had to helicoil a thread and now it's as good as it can be and has some new anti-freeze.

I didnt get the crank pulley bolt undone nor could I get the new long ring spanner to fit the tensioner due to its close proximity to the inner wing, I also couldnt get the locking tool to fit unless I undone the engine mounts and dropped the engine a few millimetres, still I'm off this coming Friday so let the saga continue.

Hi Dave. John and I have a flat open ended spanner specially ground down for the tensioner for-the auxiliary tensioner.We fit the spanner, then force a wide piece of wood down between the body and the spanner to stop it coming off.

The spanner as to be ground down, also lift the car up from the front jacking point, and put it on axle stands, if you just jack the car up at the side jacking point it will lift the car nearer to the engine and close the gap up even more.

Since I keep forgetting that this thread is here, I'm going to bump it by announcing that I've bought some Osram Nightbreakers for the Challenger, which I'll be fitting at the Nano meet Saturday.
