The difference is these are an addiction. With 7k people in hospital at the moment and

I'm afraid you have the advantage Jon, I have no French. As you might have spotted in my posts!

(Except for very early in my working life when I was in a company 'hostel' and we had, if you will pardon the expression, two au pair? The French verbs one learned are not repeatable in these hallowed pages).

I just get the feeling that this new COVID will not be a real danger to us.

I hope you are correct, with the way it seems to be taking hold it looks like we will all be getting it.

The people who really know say we're all likely to get it vaccinated or not and are hoping it's going to have similar effects that have been found in South Africa.

Up to now as far as I know there's been no reported deaths anywhere from it.

We need to hold firm, no more lockdowns, practice personal responsibility with regard to minimising our own personal risks and trust the booster jab will protect us. I would think we will all be exposed to it at some point. Just hope nhs can cope, we may get away with it, if most of us develop milder symptoms.

My wife works with a half a dozen young people who have decided they dont want to work from home any more as ''its boring''. The worse part is there are several anti vaccers amongst them. She wont be going in and the boss has said the ones that want to come in can but its on there own head. She has been working from home for the last 18 months on and off so she said a few more months wont make any difference.

The ones I feel sorry for are the companies and businesses that rely on people going into work, a friend who runs a Sandwich shop reckons his takings are down about 50% and it has not improved so this is going to have a big effect on him.

We need to learn to live with this virus, its not going to clear up anytime soon. We only get 3 score and 10 and spending 5% or more of that locked away is not a good plan unless you are agraphobic. We know how to protect ourselves and if we ALL do that we can start getting back to what we call normall a lot sooner. Those that choose to ignore it are just making this take longer.

Will plan B be enough? I cannot see that going any further will be tolerated by Parliament or the public. Let’s just hope it isn’t as bad as forecast, I’m hopeful. The proceedings in parliament will certainly be interesting this week.
