Being a man, or even merely just a male, I can say this without embarrassment. I was present at the births of both our beautiful daughters and it was the most wonderful experience of my life. To hold each of them seconds after their first breath was, well, breathtakingly moving.

My post 11 needs a bit of expansion, it was almost word for word of a lady who I know who has little time for the sisterhood so I will dodge any brick bats I was not at the birth of either of my daughters my employer didnt give time off for that sort of thing. And I would not have attended if it had been possible, and my wife didnt want me there- "womens work" But all praise to those who do. Chris S.

I was present at the births of both mine and the start of the process was far more enjoyable than the end! The results, on the other hand are still a joy and even more so, now that they are giving us grandchildren.
