What are your plans for the day?
Can't take full credit for that one Phil.....The pies were ready made. Just knocked it up to use some spare mash I had made for todays dinner

That looks good Jeff I wonder what mango crumble tastes like!!! I've just been to ASDA to do the BIG shop & got two big mangoes for 40p , They're hard & not ripe so I'm wondering whether to stew them and see what they taste like.

Sunday must be the worst day of the week to go shopping! I was there 15 minutes after they opened & it was heaving The wind has got up & we have horizontal rain now

Just let the mangoes sit Ian, they'll soften. If you ever get the chance get some Pakistani mangoes, smaller, yellow ones. They're the same as Philippine ones, much sweeter. You won't get them in ordinary supermarkets, need to go to Asian or Pakistani supermarkets.

Rain is lashing down here.

Morning all from a wet and windy North East .

Now, yesterday was pretty decent all things considered so popped over to see Rich.

He was keen to see just how grubby my deep sea green carpets were, so we cracked open his carpet cleaning goodies and set to.

On the face of it they didn't look too bad - maybe.

Here's what came out of the washer when we'd finished:

Big thanks to the man himself. What a gent Rich is

Meanwhile, someone else was bored with standing around outside, and it was quite windy, so she thought that settling down somewhere warm and comfortable was in order.....

And she even, very kindly, made space for the guy who lives there when we'd packed up and had the kettle on.

She did move, and very quickly, once the biscuits came out .

It was great to spend a few hours with Rich and his family. He's keeping going and was in good spirits.

Cheers mate. Take care of you and yours.

Oh, and one of his chickens escaped just to add a bit of interest to the afternoon. She was safely back at home before Q & I left.

Yeah you're right, These are rock hard, I think that's why they were on the reduced shelf, I'll leave them on the windowsill & see if they get any softer.......along with some fresh chillie's that said on the packet 'Mild', Mild my 'arris I think I've got third degree burns on my lips Got a few butternut squash & bell peppers off that shelf too which are now cubed & in the freezer for soups/casseroles.
