Just seen the heading that its a diesel! Check the Y piece on the front of the engine block (It will require the inlet manifold removing)

Yes the Y piece can leak big time when it lets go. Funnily enough my original water pump bought the farm at just shy of 300k miles. The outer bearing collapsed and threw the belt off, but even then it only leaked drip by drip.
