Default Union Flag badges on "C" pillar.

The Union Flag enamel badges on my C pillar are very faded and I've found some new OEM ones on ebay and ordered them.

I'm assuming it will be fairly straightforward to replace them by peeling the old ones off with a jeweller's screwdriver and cleaning up the glue residue with petrol or some other solvent but I guess lots of people have done this job before (the ebayer has sold over 80 sets of them) so any advice, hints or tips from anyone who has replaced their own before is welcome.

I use a hair dryer to make the gum pliable then scrape the residue off with a plastic scraper and white spirit. Dont affix the new one in very cold weather as the adhesion will not be good - best to do at 10c or more

Rather than use a screwdriver and risk damaging paintwork or stabbing yourself you could try running some strong fishing line or similar behind the badge to cut through the adhesive.

Many thanks for the help, for £3 per side I think it's a nice touch.
