I read in th Independant that 15000 "Ghost" international flight took place during th pandemic. This was done to make sure that th airports kept there slots. Most were empty or had few passengers. Surely there was another way of doing things...

It used to be the case that every Royal Flight was practised 7 days before hand in case there was any unforseen problems even if the flight was done on a regualr basis.

Also the aircrafts critical parts were replaced on a more regular basis than was normal and on Helicopters where critical parts were usually replaced at a half life on Royal Helicopters it was quarter life.

The next crazy thing no more than 2 members of the Royal Family flew on each aircraft even if several were all going to the same place at the same time.
