I had mine reduced by T4 from the factory setting of 3 sweeps to 2.

Hello Paul,

Your question to members asked how many sweeps they have, not whether they have attempted to adjust it. On that basis my car may well be the same as everyone else's!

Hi Simon,

Thank you for your comments, you are obviously quite correct. But where is the documented proof that the original factory setting is 3 sweeps ?

And you could have typed far fewer characters in your last sentence by simply saying 'Mine's a Mk1'

Love the Imp, my favourite classic car and hugely under-rated (very much like the 75/ZT really ).

Hello Paul, the latest Handbook (2004, so for Mk2s at least) provides the following info:.
After describing how the windscreen washer and wipers will operate continuously while the RH lever is pulled towards you, it says that the wipers 'will continue operating for a further three wipes after the lever is released'.

It says that the rear wiper on tourer models only operates whilst washer fluid is being delivered onto the screen by pushing the lever forwards and stops when it's released.
Hope this helps.

Funnily enough, now also having ZT 190 it drives in a similar fashion to the Imp, it begs you to rev the nuts of it! Very similar driving style. The 1.8 Rover is completely different.
