Default Non starting diesel

My missus came home in her car, 10 mins later she went to go out but it wouldnt start.

I got home and had a look, after a few attempts at starting the ep light came on, I checked all the fuses then did a battery reset.
Both fuel pumps are working, no ep light on, but when the engine is cranking the needle on the rev counter doesnt move.

Over to you guys now.

Hi mate,
Non moving rev counter could well indicate a crank sensor, if you want one just drop me a pm now I’m back

Most likely a camshaft sensor or failing that do an injector leak back test

Will it start with a sniff of engine start, sprayed into the the EGR? if so then as above do the leak back test.

This test soon showed which injector it was causing the same problem you have.

PS

I am presuming you have since tried to start the car from cold so the cam sensor is also cold, and you have the same result, and you have enough fuel in the tank above the 1/4 mark if UBP is in situ.

Stationary Rev counter on turning over to my mind means a goosed Crankshaft sensor.

Finally we have a running car, no one came even near to the right answer.
Chris came over and plugged his t4 in which wouldnt talk to the car, next was toaf which did slightly better, methodically unplugging different bits to no avail, eventually tracing it to a power supply issue.
That turned out to be a cable in the engine bay fusebox, the connector had a tiny amount of crud on it, a scrape and spray with some contact cleaner it was put back together, a turn of the key and she fired into life.

So the lady in my life is happy now, all I have to do is put the car back together.
