There's always minor leakage in the 'V' of course. When the engine work was carried out, were the serrated clips on the straight plastic pipe set fully outwards and four new 'O' rings fitted?
With the expansion tank cap off and the engine started from cold, do you see a constant uninterrupted stream of coolant entering the filler neck from the narrow diameter bleed hose attached there? Simon

Simon[/ Thanks for that, Simon. No constant stream of coolant from the narrow diameter bleed hose. Not sure what you mean when you mention there's always minor leakage from the 'V' - maybe you could explain further? Thanks, Simon, Pieter |

Regarding the small pipe running from the side of the header to the top of the radiator, I can confirm there is not even a dribble when starting cold. However, I let it run longer today - once the thermostat kicked in there was a continuous trickle. Not sure if I should have waited longer before sending the last message. When I switched the engine off, the trickle became a gush. I will follow your instructions, though, if you still think I should, given the above additional info. Thanks again, Simon. Pieter |
