Default Note of thanks ...

I know MarinaBrian views threads from time to time so I’d like to say thanks for the tip of removing the crankshaft pulley bolt using the starter. Used my 3/4" socket and bar against the subframe.

The bolt had defeated my air driven impact driver (610nm) and my neighbour’s electric one (unknown nm), but with a single flick of the ignition, and a scary clunk, I was then able to remove the bolt by hand. Brilliant tip, even if very scary.

Keep well

Might have to use this method, as my DeWalt bought especially for this doesn't touch it .

Actually my first attempt failed, the starter just clicked and all went dark, not even interior lights, charged the battery for 24 hours and then success.

So a recommendation to poster Ceedy, make sure your battery is at full charge before trying, good luck.

Regards

Got both the locking tool and impact socket.

Last time we tried using these after failing with the Dewalt , with two of us swinging on it we actually snapped off a 1/2 drive end from the Breaker bar..

Will try again this this year

its the small one , i've modded it with a tighter locator tube and it fits nice and snug, certainly enough to break the 1/2 inch square
