Default New rules for EV chargers.

From the end of June 2022 new home smart EV chargers will be default set not to charge at the twice daily peak times (mornings & early evenings) You can opt out but I wonder what will happen if everyone opts out?

If there is a concern about the amount of electricity available then why on earth have we not mandated that every new build is fitted with solar panels? I accept solar is not much use in the dark but if people think they can consume electric for "free" then the dishwasher, hot water and washing machine for example will be set go on during the day and not in the evening when one gets home. Some may do this already, others may not.

I suspect the load on the grid goes up during the advert time on TV and end of a program as well as after the football match mentioned

Most folk,, me included, tend to charge overnight as opposed to during the day, evening or morning.
We would only charge it at peak times in an emergency

In general i think this about most things.

Its all about control at th end of th day.... Lets say 1% of th population control. Th rest have to be controlled...

It always seems that th controller as a better life style than th controlled. Funny old world int it.
