Default Fitting leather in a classic se ?

I know this has been asked many times before without doubt. Ive done a search but still unsure.

My wife's 75 classic se (2003) has ash grey cloth seats. The driver's seat foam has disintegrated and is falling out from underneath.

We've seen a nice leather interior that has come from a 1999 year 75. I've had a quick look under the driver's seat for the electric seat plugs but couldn't find any other plugs other than the ones for the airbags.

I've read cars with cloth seats can sometimes have the electric wiring plugs under the carpet,
but where?

The 1999 leather seats are electric and also have memory function. If it turns out we do have the electric plugs to operate the seats electrically, will the memory function work with the low line ipk ?

If we don't have the electric plugs, can the runners simply be swapped over, using the manual seat adjusters on the leather seats?

Thanks
Rob

This is what you need to look for under the seat.

Yes the seats will work if the wiring is there.

If wiring is not there have the wiring retro fitted i have a few spare wiring looms for electric seats.

Swapping the runners out would not work and removing the leather covers would be a long job also difficult, easier to retro fit the wiring.

Thanks arctic,

Ah, in that case, it's unlikely we have the wiring loom plugs for the electric seats then. I'll double check tomorrow to be sure.

Sorry for any confusion about the memory function and the low line ipk. (My Connie se tourer has memory functions on the seat and the ipk beeps when the seat is changed or a position is stored. Unsure if the lower spec ipk has anything to do with the seats).

Ideally I'd like to avoid swapping the seat covers over really.
As for the retrofit loom option, I'll have a read into this for a better understanding.

Thanks again arctic

The electric seat wiring is never under the carpet, it's always next to the airbag connectors.

Having raised the drivers seat and had a good look, unfortunately no extra plugs for the electric seats.

We now have the seats and pretty pleased with them. Just need to fit them and sort the wiring.

Thanks for the advice folks

Retro fitted electric leather in mine in 2010, well Steve (devilish) did these were also heated but I wasn't bothered with that function. Steve simply ran the wires from the original plugs which I removed from the donor, and connected them to switched live/earth behind the cig lighter. Worked fine until I realised I never used them So instead of lugging about heavy seats, replaced them with alcantara/leather

Quick question, currently in the process of installing the wiring. Come across one wire we are unsure of.
Brown wire with a pink Stripe. I believe this is for the driver seat ecu for the memory function. I've read it's a 5amp fuse required at the fuse box

Issue I have is what fuse number does this need to go to? The fusebox in the car is the later mini fuse style.

Thanks
Rob
