Question What have I found ?

I am recommissioning one of my Rover 75 Diesels which has been SORN for a couple of years and decided to regrease the bonnet locks. Finding too much rust on the Slam Panel I decided to completely remove it and will de-rust / repaint before reassembly. As part of removing the Slam Panel I had to detach two horizontal pipes which run below it – held to it by a couple of metal plates/brackets which bolt to the Slam Panel. (In reality the ‘two pipes’ are actually one that loops back on itself on the passenger side )

So , question is – what are these pipes (pipe) for / part of ?

Now for the next question. Attached , originally to the pipes bracket on the Driver side was – I think – some form of Sensor held by a bracket to the pipe plate/racket. This item has a small , round sort of can end about 1 inch diameter. Looking on Rimmers I suspect it is something they call

‘Sensor - Fuel Burning Heater Ambient - JWL100030A’

Just what is this for and how does it work ?

The bracket that held this to the ‘two pipes’ plate/bracket has completely rusted through and this sensor was actually laying on the floor pan . So , unless anyone knows where to get a new bracket for it I will have to make another.
Anyway , when I have finished , everything will end up rigorously rust protected and looking like new – But I would appreciate any answers to my questions.

All the best.

The pipes are power steering pipes, cooling I believe, easy enough to change, undo the 2 brackets and I think they are quick connect couplings.
Had to change mine a while back due to Rudolph nutting the car.
Available from Rimmer's for not a lot of cash,( but haven't checked)

Thumbs up Generous help

A HUGE thanks to Cbr1100xx who not only helped by passing his old bracket/sensor to me but even sandblasted and protective coated before placing in the post! A classic case of just why a lot of us are so pleased to stay as members of this club - and are also proud of such helpful members.
Thumbs up to Stan.
