Default Resetting oil change mileage

Had an oil and filter change done at local garage but they couldn't reset the oil change mileage with diagnostic computer is there another way to reset this???

i bought a small tool off the bay to do it cost about £13 and works well

Connector is located below steering wheel, on the right hand side. Basically you link pins 4 and 8 of the diagnostic connector with a paper clip or piece of wire, turn on the ignition (position ‘II’) and wait several seconds. It takes between 8-25 seconds for oil change and another 8-25 seconds for resetting service intervals.

well its know for free and people advising to buy something should someone onot mentioned this before a member shelled out. just a thought

If have to disagree with you there. Although paper clip method is free, if you shirt the incorrect numbers you will at best blow a fuse. You can cause damage if your not careful.

The tool is simply a case of putting it on the block and pressing a button. Impossible to get wrong and a lot easier to do. Many also come with LEDs which let you know when the reset has completed
