Default Noise

Hi,
Had my car parked up for 3 weeks and now I've returned I have a strange noise from my car when it's cold. I've got a vid that I took although it's not very clear. The sound seems to go once the engine is hot. If anyone can help I would be grateful

If it is a bearing then not expensive as they only tension the belts...

As long as it is not a cam one of course...

The warm weather can dry out belts and bearings...
See if you can oil the idlers first...

Next alternatives would be water or Ps pump...

Poss air con compressor.... Does it go away with air con on or off?

I havnt actually tried yet.. It only does it when I rev engine. In or out of gear and wasn't doing it once the engine was upto temperature roughly. Also does it when it's in or out of gear.

As Klarzy said, I have had similar noise on my old Streetwise from both the power steering pump and and also a collapsed bearing on a new water pump, the noise being the timing belt rubbing off the timing belt cover.

Another option maybe the exhaust. I was having an alignment check a while ago and the guy said the only thing he noticed wrong was a joint on a new part of the exhaust wasn't brilliant due to it being a pattern part or something.. Maybe this could be it as it does sound kind of metallic and from that area from what I can hear anyway!
