2.5 KV6 rear (RH) cylinder head wanted
Following the disaster of a cambelt failure (see separate thread) I need another cylinder head. Having replaced both, and the belts etc, I've had another failure with 2 broken valves and a broken end to a camshaft. n
Probably easiest to replace the head intact. Stewart Last edited by StewartIngram; 27th March 2022 at 16:55.. |

Hi Stewart,
I have a pair here you can have for £30, I bought them as spares but they are no longer required. |

Something I wasn't aware of? So MG heads are not ok for Rover mk1?

All the kv6 99 onwards have the same heads.
Simon why try to complicate matters.(check it out on rave ) Only difference is different cams on a 190.

Exactly, and one of Dave's cars is ... a 190! So my question is far from "complicating matters", it is seeking to avoid possible further trouble in store for Stewart. He's got enough on his plate already.
I understand that one of your camshafts is broken and you are seeking a replacement head "intact" which I take to mean complete with camshafts. The MG 180 and 190 engines use different camshafts to your Rover engine. Dave (Ched) has offered you heads which he bought as spares and since all the cars he has listed in his profile are MGs there is a strong possibility that they will not be suitable for you. If Dave's heads are from an MG 160 then they will be fine but it's not clear to me from Dave's profile which engine his MG ZT 385 has. I strongly recommend that you contact Dave for more information about exactly what he's selling. Simon

The other zt on my profile is a V8.
This thread has become complicated because of an assumption. I have a pair of kv6 heads in my garage, they are not for or from a 190, so yes Stuart, I have a pair of kv6 heads and I’ll be in touch with you. I also have some rubber mats for sale 😂😂 |

Further consideration needs to be given to the condition of the pistons and liners, when the heads removed it would be a good idea to inspect the liners for cracks due impact and the condition of the piston crowns.
Might not mention it in rave but a good idea never the less. Saves wasting time rebuilding an engine with a damaged bottom end
