It’s difficult to maintain a sense of proportion, and/or respect at the very least, for our elected representatives. There are no such things as paragons of virtue or saintly behaviour. On the other hand those who would two-facedly dodge the accusations or, let’s face it, actually deliberately lie are not fit for office in Parliament.
The knowing grins and shifty looks say it all. But it’s never been any different. One of them knowingly retained foreign citizenship despite being in office and having extremely close personal contact with not only foreign investors and markets but also close relationships with extremely wealthy family members. Confidential conversations are bound to be tempting in certain circumstances. Of course, no offences occurred in all this but it is actually beyond belief that people were unaware of the closeness of parties and the possibility that might give rise to questions about suitability for high office. And then have the gall to address each other as ‘honourable’.

Both have said they have paid the fines right away £50 each i think was reported, if you ever did a fraction of what they have done over the last few years you would have been sacked and most likely find it very hard to get another job.
Pathological lying. Insider trickery. Helping family to gain GOV contracts. Expense fiddling. it's corrupt from the lower benches right to the top and will always be as long as you have Millionaires, billionaires, whom have no back ground in the job they are doing. Time for a massive change and by law people whom have background in the jobs hold that position, (ie) doctor running NHS etc Army man in defence etc. Would you invite sandwich maker to do your plumbing NO

Irrespective of what party they belong to I think they should go. We should not have leaders that have flouted the law in charge.
Like drug dealers, there is always another one waiting to take their place. disgusting macafee2 |

Still think Sunak will go at some point. He’s hanging in there for the moment. The problem with our Parliamentary system is the PM is the decision maker on these sorts of matters. Nobody envisaged that the PM would be the main problem himself! Rules need to be tightened and rewritten.

We need to be realistic. A 1% tax cut just before the elecetion, claims of how they successfully kept out Ukranian immigrants and showed leadership against Russia whilst at the same time curtailing German/French economic aspirations by leading the EU poerhouses into imposing energy related sanctions they were reluctantto impose. All transgressions will be forgotten. I thinlk BoJo may actually be in for another term.

With all that's going on, and a seriously unsettled future world wide, I wonder if a huge change in government, or even just the leaders, right now is a rather large step to take.
Those guilty of Covid regulations abuse obviously need disciplining but is right now the best time for navel gazing? Continuity in such times seems vital, no matter what was or what wasn't a 'party'. For me, now is the time for very careful management of a critical period, certainly in my lifetime. Suitably warned and watched leaders are more important in a crisis than taking time to go through the circus of an election. Not even then could there be certainty of loyalties and national need. Better the devil you know....
