My wife's suggestion was to chase it away, right . . . . need reflexes like a bl00dy cat to react quickly enough when it swoops in.
Leave it be Steve a bird of prey is doing what it needs to do to survive, domestic pet cats do far more harm to our bird population than Ketrels etc.
I should add I'm no cat hater.

Yeah, I know that Ian, just nature. My wife's ludicrous suggestion of chasing it, she's never seen it, in and out in a flash. Don't have cats around here, just the four cottages with no other houses around. Any cat that appeared would get short shrift from the girls anyway.

The old house was in an estate, our dog at the time, Milka a Toy Poodle, was always chasing cats out of the garden. However one day he went to chase a cat and it just stood and looked at him . . . . he skidded to a halt "this ain't right!" He thought better of it and walked away.

YEAAAAHHHH! at last Got the begger It came down the chimney in hands reach & I managed to grab it, It's very weak & unsteady on it's feet but it's slowly coming around, I threw a handful of bird seed on the lawn & it's busy eating that & walking better,.

The cats are watching it like a hawk lol.

Pluck those dirty feathers off and put him somewhere warm.

Give him a stock cube carrot and onion to play with, and cover him with a blanket of pastry.

Lonely days are long
Twilight sings a song
All the happiness that used to be

Soon my eyes will close
Soon I'll find repose
And in dreams, you're always near to me

I'll see you in my dreams
And then I'll hold you in my dreams

Yeah I'm glad it's out, It's still on the lawn huddled up against the wind. I'm on cat look out duty as a visiting cat has seen it now

Cardboard boxes! The EVSE car charger arrived this morning & it's a fight as to who gets to sleep in the cardboard box There are Cat beds in every room but put a cardboard box down & it becomes prime real estate
