Default Help with Bonnet/Boot warning light

75 Conn SE Diesel

I have had intermittent problem with the bonnet warning light coming on when getting to approx 70mph. As the speed drops to below 60, the light goes off. Is the bonnet/boot lifting with air pressure?? I presume there are sensors somewhere, Can anyone please point me in the right direction.

Hi Stuart.
Hopefully by now you have solved the problem with the warning light coming on due to the bonnet switch not being held down enough when traveling at speed, i was informed the Dave (stoctake) dropped you a PM on how to solve it, please let us know if it worked.

Hi Stuart.
The bonnet switch is on the right hand side as you stand in front of the car, basically on the panel in direct line with the coolant cap, it is a rubber square with a round top.
1

2

The rubber stoppers on the ends of the bonnet will either need turning inwards so the bonnet can pull closer to the switch.

Or it could be that the pins may need adjustment again turning in by a single or two threads, its a fine adjustment.

3

4

You will need a 17mm spanner and some pliers.
Pull the spring down with the pliers, and undo the nut a little not to much about three threads.
5

Then with wide flat blade screwdriver turn the pins inwards by one or two threads only, nip the nut back up, while you have the screwdriver in place. do both sides.
6

Now go for the drive and see if the light come son or not, but really the rubber stoppers should solve the problem.

Hope this helps you and others, do let us know please
