Default Emergency Spare Wheel!

This evening I got a phone call from the better half telling me that she had, had an incident. During rush hour to avoid a White Van Man who was in a rush she had to swerve to the left to avoid him.

Result both N/S tyres flat after hitting the kerb.

My son took me to the car (a friend nearby brought my wife home, who was a little shaken.) One wheel changed for the spare on the front, after finding a hole in the tyre. The back one just seemed flat, I also carry a can of tyre inflater just in case. The tyre started to inflate but then deflated.

My son drives an Audi A3 and we looked at his spare, same size wheel, tyre and five studs , the Pitch diameter was very slightly different we put it on and proceeded at low speed, we only had about a mile till home, my son following watching the wheel closely. Got home safely.
Not to be recommended for motorways but in an emergency it can be useful to know.
