Could you ever buy
Could you ever buy 9/32 or 7mm countersunk machine screws?
looking at the internet I cant find either. If you know where I could get 3 with nuts, self locking preferably, please do tell. 6mm is a bit sloppy in the hole, 8 will mean drilling macafee2 |

Try these.
Try Brabbin and Rudd of Wigan, engineers supplies and very helpful. The number is 01942 242933. Failing that I have a large box of assorted nuts and bolts of various imperial sizes, maybe I can go through them if all else fails.

I've never found the diameter of a screw thread to be over size. However on mass production, threads sometimes come out undersize. Maybe if you went up a fraction you might find what your looking for.

Sounds like they could be imperial if they are a nat's under 8mm. Then count the tpi of the screw (I found on very small screws, it was easier to take a photo of the thread against a ruler and then expand on the screen) Bit of calculation should tell you what they are. My best guess is that they are either 1/4" or 5/16" something or other. I did wonder if they are BA, they 0BA is 6mm o/d so unlikely to be that. Last edited by kelvo; 20th October 2020 at 15:59.. |

Have a search for 9/32" UNF, they do exist and are used for things like model making and the legacy aircraft industry.
