Simply stunned to read of this.

Bob was a very good friend and a very kind friend to both me and Poppy. As such I think that I owe it to him to mention now that Poppy did express her regret about an exchange which she had with him on another forum some time ago. Words were said in anger in reaction to a situation which was not of Bob's making and he was very much caught in the crossfire when a shooting war broke out between other parties.

In light of this very sad news I'm pleased that I conveyed Poppy's regrets to Bob shortly after the event and ever the gentleman he was very magnanimous in his response.

Bob, you are a gentleman and a scholar and I for one will miss you and I'm sure that Pops and many others will too.
