Don't tell him, Pike! Just been on the news that Ian Lavender, the last surviving Dad's Army cast member has died at 77. Very sad but a bit of a surprise as I had thought that Clive Dunn was still with us. Last edited by WillyHeckaslike; 5th February 2024 at 14:29.. Reason: Typo |

Senility is creeping in! I got the taters, carrots & broccoli out of the steamer pan & forgot to turn the gas off, My nose told me something was up & the pan had boiled dry I've blackened the bottom & inside the bottom pan so scouring pads out & wet & dry sandpaper to clean them up.

Looks like the weathers changing after tomorrow with low temps & snow forecast Just got some bubble wrap out of the garage to cover the seedlings, I've got heat mats & full spectrum grow lights going in the grow cabinet I made out of an old bedside cabinet & lined it with foil.
Pork chop dinner for tea tonight Proper purple haze glow in the greenhouse at night time

Reading and replying to JohnnyBG’s personal account about dying from cancer certainly puts everything into perspective, how somethings are important and the rest isn’t, a brave man to be able to write it up and to let us know how he is doing….I am lost for words but wanted to acknowledge what he wrote as a mark of respect.
I am sorry Bob to read you had a low time of it yesterday. Are you partial or full weight bearing? This morning both Jessica and I are having physio and making progress. Yesterday the installation of the solar energy system at the house in Nairobi was completed. The inverter has a Bluetooth dongle which reads out how the system is performing and it has an app for the phone, clever technology. I hope I will be able to understand it. |

Evening all, What a miserable wet day it's been, Temps look set to tumble from overnight onwards, I've get all the seedlings & young plants wrapped up in bubble wrap.
The electricity board were supposed to be here between 08:00 & 10:00 to do that remedial work on the fuse board but rang me at 13:00 to say they cant make it & rescheduled for Thursday afternoon. Chicken korma & rice for tea tonight whilst watching Thunderbirds

Took mum to the hospital for an x-ray and to see the fracture clinic specialist. She is healing well and can try to use her arm a bit now - great news. To pass the time, I was chatting up a nurse in the x-ray department but she saw straight through me! I chatted up another nurse in the fracture clinic but we had to take a break when mum was finished!
I must be feeling a bit better too!
