Pioneer AVIC VSS connection
I am awaiting my double din facia to arrive so I have not stated installing my AVIC-F900bt.
Can anyone confirm the VSS on the ISO plug works with the avic's? Just having my doubts as my manual shows it as a K bus connection. If it does not work which works better the speed sensor on the auto trans or the cruise control input as they have different pulse rates. I have the Avic running on the bench now, having lots of fun modifying the OS. I have also done the bypass mod to display video on the move. Cheers fom Oz Jim |

The speed signal is probably the one supplied by the ABS system. I tapped into mine at the instrument cluster connector. A grey/white cable IIRC.

It may well only be a K Bus connection, the cars with the Symphony unit fitted have the speed signal via the K-Bus in the navigation mini ISO, not the main ISO plug.
If yours is the later model with the small green mini ISO plug for the steering wheel controls, it may have the K-Bus connection in the main ISO plug, not a dedicated speed sensor connection. |

Not connected the road-speed sensor to my AVIC D3 yet - but I anticipate doing as Biggles suggests: splicing into the ABS speed signal.

That's where my HD3BT gets a speed pulse from. |

That wire carries the signal from the ABS ECU to the IPK.
