Nice to hear Georgie has recovered from her op. I had to go through the same thing with Benjy once. The vet we used at the time was based in the same village and it was much more about the money than the animal. She was extremely rough in her manhandling of the animals, had a terrible manner with them and was very abrupt and rude to the owners,I think in the end she retired from actually practising and moved behind the scenes into the research side of veterinary medicine ,apparently she was very clever just not a people or animal person. After the way Benjy was after the operation to remove some teeth we never went back there again, when we moved house and he needed treatment next time we went to a different vet in a nearby town who was totally different, lovely with the animals and pleasant and polite to the owners. The dog was much more relaxed with him.

No snow on the Staffs/Salop/Cheshire border but just as dull as yesterday and temp. not due to rise above freezing today, I don't think Miss Pippin will get a long walk today and it's too cold for garage fettling. Grocery delivery due 11-12.

I saw your post about the rats getting into the chicken feed. We used to have the same problem with the rats getting into the sacks of cow feed. What we did to resolve the problem was to get a farm cat which seemed to help. With moles digging up our lawn, I used the old way of digging out the mole hole, placing a raw sliced potato inside a tin can with both ends cut away. I set up a garrotte at one end using a branch with a line as a bow for tension, then buried all of it back into the mole hole. It’s a bit gruesome but it does work. As you might know, since Covid started, I have been cutting Jessica’s hair. She has frizzy, curly hair, so last Monday I ordered a Keratin Brazilian Blow Dry kit treatment from the UK using Amazon and DHL. It arrived yesterday, something I am planning on doing to Jessica over the weekend. Hopefully there won’t be any issues Here is a young lady called Vera showing how to apply the treatment. What a shame there was no one to help her. https://youtu.be/uaIhK2kbIBc |

Morning all.
Overcast and cold, but dry here. Due to see a bit of sun later but still hovering around freezing point. With all the rain we've had I'm expecting to grow to 6' 5" later on courtesy of our heavy, clinging, clay soil . Glad to hear that she's on the mend. Lots of calm and cuddles are needed I think . |

Morning Phil, I don't think I'll be doing much today apart from sitting in front of the fire drinking tea & driving trains It's perishing frosty & foggy out there & not going to get much above 0C according to the Beeb. It's supposed to be shopping day today but I think I've got a Get out of Jail card as there are parcels due to be delivered today for our daughter. My missus will have to brave the weather on her own

Morning all - eh bah gum it's a cauld yan this morning. We're well white over with a hard frost - a fair few degrees lower than Phil's tropical temperatures.
Today's highlights - booking a Morrisons home delivery for next week and checking to make sure that my old age pension (remember when that was an accepted term?) has been paid into my bank - with thanks to all taxpayers out there
