Default Mot

Well took the car yesterday for the MOT and it failed!

The rear offside spring was 'incomplete' and the rear brake pads were low.
Was quoted at £210 +VAT to fix - no chance!

Got the part myself for £80 and a local garage fitted for just £60

So all shiny and another years MOT done.

I was dreading the Zenons not passing or the LED side lights but all was ok

Nice one! Often wonder where some garages get there prices from, could it be they get there parts from Rimmers??

Broken rear springs, another item at the top of the failure list. Glad you got it sorted cheaply.

Xenons and HID lighting, seems that the new legislation was a myth..

I believe that the HIDs are amongst other things (including the airbag light) were due to come in this year but have been held back due to a required change of legislation. Its possible they will come into force sometime next year.

I spoke to a member who had been issued an advisory for the Air Bag light being illuminated. Incidentally my car had this advisory logged two years on the run.. A simple task for me when I purchased the car to put right.

HID kits and Xenons have been the subject of legislation for years now. Funny though, every MOT tester that I've spoke to knows nothing about it.
