its the time we visit whitby late march or september just out of season, much cheaper for cottage rental but more importantly not crowded.
we first started visiting annually about nine years ago and the amount of rovers knocking about then was incredible, if i remember correctly i actually mentioned the fact in a post many moons ago. a trip on the sentinal steam bus really makes you appreciate the comfort of a 75, the day we took the trip it was driven by a guy called vernon who also drove the trains in the harry potter films. unfortunately the masted ship in the background of the picture was sold to someone in france a few years ago now, she was named "the grand turk" and left before we managed to take the tour round her. |
