David, thanks for the PM, tried to respond but your inbox is full.
Waiting to hear from donor car scrappers to see if they can supply looms. Will try Les if not. Annoying thing is that there are connections for the heated seat switches behind the dash but no loom for the seats themselves. Grrr!! Any diagrams you find would be useful. Can't find anything in Haynes, is there another source for diagrams? |

Electric Seat Wiring Help
Here are two diagrams and the plug connections. Circled is plug 253 this is the black plug under the seat.[coming from the seats] Pins 1 and 2 are for the heated seats.. Pins 4 5 and 8 are from the passenger fuse box.. Pin 3 is earth.. Pin 6 is K Bus connection pin 7 is the one pin I am not sure of {perhaps raykay could help] Looking at the drawings I woud say that you make a loom, you only need 8 wires.. Hope this helps Dave T |

Duotone, you are a wonderful, wonderful man. That makes life so much easier.
Wonder if just ignoring the K bus will get them to work on the switches or if I need to get another switch. Maybe switches from maplin would work as a temporary measure. So excuse my ignorance but where do these diagrams come from? |

Electric Seat Wiring Help
Hi efreeti.
I think that you should try and connect up the K Bus. The K bus wire colour is White/Red/Yellow, it can be picked up from various places behind the dash. Linking into K Bus from your seats just might make your memory function work.. I'll pm you about the diagrams.. All the best Dave T |

I found that the memory seats worked without the bus connection. The only function missing was the automatic recognition of which door key is used, so selecting the relevant position. All the other intelligence appears to be in the black box fitted to the seat. It wasn't my car anyway!

Right then, passenger seat is in and working, just got to wire up the drivers side tomorrow! At least the wiring is there now so I can just run an extension to the other side.
Fingers crossed I can get it working without having to swap switches around! Manged to give it a really good vac while the seat was out as well! Still smells a bit doggy though |
