What terrible luck! A second hand rear seat shouldn't cost much though, along with a few bits of trim.

Yes, l'd go for seat & trim replacement too. Not too much money & a little time investment should put you back to your pre-spill position.

Its a pity that they no longer fix little steel clips to the lids like they used to so they would not come off very easy. Problem today is the containers are made of the iniquitous plastic. They call it progress?

Not any more by sound of it😃 You could have packed near the fence you wanted to paint and just dip you brush in the car rather than the tin🤣🤣

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

I keep a few of those heavy duty reusable carrier bags in the boot, for such items. They might not stop it leaking, but the bag would contain the mess if jammed into place.

One car I bought, had suffered a major linseed oil spill in the boot before I bought it. I soaked most of it up with sawdust, but never got it all out.

That's awful, I hope you can get most of it out. Try nail polish remover and use a handheld steam cleaner, the steam cleaner alone should get most of it out, they are cheap to buy if you don't already have one.

I painted our 130ft fence last year, I bought 15x 5 litre tubs of Ronseal harvest gold from Wilko, I had it delivered into store.

They delivered all 15x 5 litre tubs in individual boxes, the tubs were also sealed in a bag inside each box, it made loading them into the car a lot easier and much safer. I asked them why the secure packaging, spillage they said.

I think the problem these days is having plastic lids on the paint cans. Even when you wanted to open one with a metal lid it never popped straight out.

I agree, the Ronseal 5L tubs are very flimsy, it's like holding a tub of jelly.

I forget to mention, when I collected my 15x 5L tubs from the Wilko store, each tub also had sellotape holding the lids on, so the manufacturer must be aware how easy the lids come off during transportation; why else put each tub in individual boxes sealed in clear polythene bags and with the lids secured on with tape?

I still have 3x tubs leftover in the my shed with the 3 layers of protection, I kept all the boxes as they are very well made and will most probably come in handy.
