I’ve used similar to these before but found there was no grip on the outer rubber sheath, so the whole unit “spun”.

You have to fit the correct size so that they expand into the hole when you tighten them up (like a rawlplug). My Midget hardtop had something similar into the roof fibreglass on the folding catches. They allowed a bit of "flex" so that nothing was so rigid that it broke.

I fitted metal plates with a 6mm nut attached into my air intakes. Both cars suffered from the nut and bolt seizing the the round nut turning in the rubber.
