Repaired an abs fault for a member this afternoon, strangely the loom had broken on the cars harness!

General tidying of the new stable mate. (A mk2 1.8 Connie SE to join my mk1 CDT Connie) replaced sagging boot board and battery box lid.

Today's job, along with removing mud flaps (they're fubar and fronts constantly rubbing on ground)

Freed off the bonnet catches which would not latch the bonnet closed. Found the problem was not the catches nor the cables but the splitter unit which had been greased. Removed all the grease, mainly copper-slip, and the unit then moved freely.

However not looking forward the next job on my main car, clutch slave.

Well...yesterday....Drove No. 1 saloon after a few weeks lying up, to be greeted with a rubbing noise from osf wheel.
Although the brake flexi had popped out of its mount, i suspect it was a build up of surface rust on the disc that was causing the noise. All rubbed down and no more noise.

Then the pressure reducing valve on the mains water supply to the boiler decided it was incontinent!
I despise plumbing jobs in the winter..😡.
(I also despise them in the summer&#129300
However, FIL sorted it out for me...😃

Poo!
Got round to this today, as rad fitted is aftermarket (as I'd guess a big percentage of our cars now are) this elbow doesn't fit
It's a bit shorter than the one on my rad, not an issue as you could fit slightly longer piece of top hose
The diameter where it goes into rad is about half mm bigger so won't fit. Don't fancy either removing material from rad or trying to file stainless steel elbow

Looked at it through the window and decided..too cold out there -1. Of course it was all frosty white instead of BRG. So made a brew.
