An Easy Fix
How'do Folks
I recently replaced a load of Parts - New Swivel Hubs, Wheel Bearings, Brake Lines/Hoses and Dust Shields at the Front. Car passed MOT - so All Good...............or Not there was a definite Knock/Rattle on small bumps evident - I had initially assumed the Drop Links to be at fault........then maybe the Top Mount Bush/Bearing I had done a reasonable inspection of the Suspension - checking all the Bolts i'd replaced - that, along with a decent test drive - had me confident All Major Components were Secured Correctly there. Next inspecting the Brakes - Back Shields, Hoses All Good - while banging the front Passenger Side Wheel with a Hammer Fist at the 9 o'clock position I could almost replicate a "Rattle" just an ever so slight change of tone compared to banging the rest of the wheel - so i figured the issue was with the Brakes. Brake Caliper Carrier Bolts - these were by no means "Loose" - However they did require a wee nip up to torque I didn't even have to remove a Wheel - and the Car Drives as Smooth and Quiet as I'd hope after all the New Bits Paul. |

Aye Duncan, maybe the Heart ruling the Head a wee bit - "Triggers' Broom" i'll be naming the Car soon. A few occasions i've thought it may be time to consider calling it a day - however, I'm not sure i'd be too interested in owning a different Car all the Modern Cars I've driven i'd rather walk that said - a Volvo 940 or a VW Phaeton......maybe for me the Rover is such a Pleasant Car to drive and a comfortable place to be - i'm not sure i can quit the habit Paul. |
