Suggestion.
Could you photography experts put up some photos of before and after editing,so someone who is new to this can ask,how did you get that bit to look like that and what editing app was used.

I recently had this shot printed and it now hangs by my desk.
I took it on Feb 6th The first pic is how it came out the camera. The second pic is just cropped. The third pic is cropped and edited. The shot was taken late in the day and the sun was hitting the bird in the face. The rear of the bird was in shadow. I always shoot in RAW (as opposed to JPEG) , this enables me to retain more detail in the dark and light areas for editing. I have had to convert these pics to JPEG to display here. In a nutshell. I darkened the light areas. I lightened the dark areas. I boosted the colour I did other tweeks but the above is what really matters. I have little experience outside of Lightroom and Photoshop so maybe others may know of free easy to use software. As for learning, I have learnt photography and editing by watching videos mostly on Youtube. I have not read this book but I do watch his videos on Youtube (and many other people also) I would say he is a good teacher and produces good content. The book covers photography rather than editing. He does have videobooks on Lightroom and Photoshop. https://northrup.photo/product/stunn...l-photography/ You can visit the "Tutorials" page on the above website and find some free videos on Photoshp and Lightroom. Off subject, but as I said I enjoy watching many Youtubers with photography channels. Here is one guy who travels Great Britain (and the world) taking pictures and visiting fantastic places. I enjoy watching them. There are lots of other Guys and Gals doing similar things. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfh...6gEc4hDK90rR1Q Hope this helps Last edited by Rocket; 23rd February 2018 at 11:05.. |

Here is a photo of my Nephew Ozzy in the park taken with my Dslr and 70-200 F2.8 lens.
CC9J6559 by Jeff Cranwell, on Flickr This is my edit of the photo. Ozzy by Jeff Cranwell, on Flickr This was edited using a mixture of Lightroom, Photoshop and Google HDR Efex Pro. Firstly I used lightroom to crop and to adjust the lighting/clarity etc. I then used Photoshop and content aware to remove the white fencing in the background, also in photoshop I moved the catchlights in the eyes to the centre and a few other tweaks. Lastly I opened up the image in HDR Efex Pro and applied a modified HDR effect and finished off the edit with a vignette
