Sterns!!! I had me many happy nights out there in the late 80's. Then everyone started going in jeans and t-shirts when the rave scene appeared. That was that, my Sterns days were gone forever. Happy days!

Same here as soon as it turned like that (Greed) started going to Rutherfords on the pier.

It amazes me how far RC aircraft have come. Modern electric motors and control systems have transformed the hobby and made it much simpler and certainly more reliable.
Back in my teems I flew gas powered radio controlled airplanes and attempted to get back into it in the mid-90's. Time was harder to come by then and the De Havilland Beaver kit I bought is still hanging half built in my garage.
You can see it in the pic below above the MGF with evidence of another old hobby of mine, collecting Great War memorabilia, in the picture as well.
I find that with old MGs to maintain I don't have a lot of time for other hobbies.
